Turf & Track Rules

Welcome to Tiger Stadium. The rules below are part of our plan to ensure a high quality facility for many years to come. Head coaches, lead sponsors, and/or authorized signers of the facility use form, will be responsible for ensuring that everyone in their group are made aware of and adheres to the rules set forth by the Smithville Independent School District. Failure to abide by these rules may result in suspensions and/or revocation of the group’s ability to use the complex. The rules and guidelines are as follows:

  1. No sports drinks, sodas, or any other drink are allowed . Water is the ONLY beverage allowed on the track surface or turf.

  2. No food, gum or sunflower seeds on the track surface or turf.

  3. Do not leave any trash on the turf or track surfaces. Tape, water/soda bottles, cups, clothes, etc... Please use the provided trash receptacles.

  4. No glass of any kind is allowed inside the complex.

  5. No canopies, tents, lawn chairs, or anything that requires staking, are allowed on the track surface or turf.

  6. No tobacco or vaping –this is a violation of Smithville ISD policy and Texas state law.

  7. No pets are allowed on the track surface or turf.

  8. Only authorized motorized vehicles are allowed on the track surface and turf (I.E. ambulance, trainers vehicle).

  9. Only authorized gas-powered machinery are allowed on the track surface or turf. A power generator and DC source may be placed on the field or turf only with special permission and only when a protective barrier is utilized between the power unit and the track surface and turf. Whenever possible, the machinery/power source will be placed on the outside of the track surface and turf. All power cords must be contained safely within close proximity to the equipment being used.

  10. No pyrotechnics, fireworks or flames of any kind on the track surface or turf. Fireworks and pyrotechnics are prohibited on ALL school properties without authorization from the Superintendent.

  11. Only rubber soled shoes and USATF/IAAF certified track shoes may be worn on the track surface.

  12. Only grass cleats or rubber molded cleats may be worn on the turf.

  13. No sharp, jagged, edgy, heavy or damaging materials are to be used or placed on the track surface or turf.

  14. Follow all state, federal and local laws and policies.

  15. The stadium and track are closed to the public without prior written consent of Smithville ISD.
