The goal of this webpage is to provide simplified explanations and resources to help applicants navigate the Texas certification process. Smithville ISD is committed to maintaining a highly qualified teaching staff and highly qualified paraeducators. All teachers employed with Smithville ISD must hold a Valid Texas Certificate and have a copy on file with Human Resources. The certificate must be current and valid for employment in Smithville ISD.

*NEW* ACC TEACHER RESIDENT PARTNERSHIP

Aspiring teachers can now join the SISD team through the ACC Teacher Residency Program to obtain their teaching certification through ACC while working under a mentor teach at SISD.
