According to a recent report from KVUE, fentanyl is becoming a larger problem than ever. Four overdoses occurred within the last month, which highlights the persistent threat fentanyl poses to communities...even small towns like Smithville.
While fentanyl has long been known as a powerful and often lethal synthetic opioid, its presence continues to escalate, driving a wave of overdose deaths across the nation. Fayette County’s alarming statistics serve as a stark reminder that the fight against fentanyl is far from over.
It is important that we educate our community, and especially our children, on this topic.
See our Fentanyl Awareness page on our website for resources and guidance on how to talk to your students about the dangers of fentanyl.
