Our 4th graders had a fun surprise on Friday! The Smithville Noon Lions Club showed up with 130+ dictionaries and passed them out to each student. Superintendent Burns took them through a quick lesson on how to use the dictionary, and then they all wrote their names in them. They were all very excited to have their very own dictionary!

We held our Community Strategic Planning meeting on Tuesday to discuss the 5-year plan for Smithville ISD. Thanks to all who showed up to help us plan for our future, and to Dr. Jodi Duron from Moak Casey for leading the discussion! This same group will reconvene in October to continue these important conversations.
It was good to have students back at our Board of Trustees meeting last night! Students from Smithville Elementary joined us to lead the Pledge and share their Character Essays about Courage. Great job!
Today we remember the 9/11 attacks and honor the lives lost in that tragedy.
#NeverForget
Smithville ISD is closed today, but we will see everyone back tomorrow.
