Before the holiday, Smithville ISD asked staff, students, parents, and community to respond to a survey about SISD's Academic Calendar for 2024-2025. The District Site-Based Committee, comprised of a mixture of staff, parents, and community, will be meeting to discuss the calendar for the next school year soon, and will be taking into account the information gathered during the survey.
Questions in the survey included questions about the possibility of a 4-day week, a "year-round" calendar, adding additional breaks (such as a Fall Break), and looking at the length of the school day, just to name a few.
There were 367 total responses collected, and we broke the results into four categories: staff members, parents, students, and community members (without overlap between the groups; i.e.- "parents" does not include staff who are also parents, they are included in the "staff" results).
